The Rice Northwest Museum

A clearing in a fir forest about half an hour's drive from downtown Portland, Oregon is the site of the Rice Northwest Museum of Rocks and Minerals, one of the finest privately run museums of the earth sciences in the United States. Once the private home of enthusiastic collectors Richard and Helen Rice, the museum houses, among much else, a superb collection of worldwide minerals and a comprehensive collection of zeolites and other minerals from the Pacific Northwest.
