We know that the pace of science and research is increasing globally. Our industry needs to contribute to it and be part of this global trend; otherwise, we risk stagnation.However, we cannot achieve this aim through the low level of funding that science and research currently gets from our industry. We need to fund a range of industry-good activities, including research, which will get the largest share at 40% of a levy through a commodity levy.
