A beekeeping colleague lent this book to me, and I can't thank him enough. It is certainly the best account of beekeeping problems in the USA which I have read, and I would recommend it to everyone. Hannah Nordhaus is a prize-winning journalist, who took up the project of investigating the serious declines in honey bees and Colony Collapse Disorder. She clearly learned a huge amount about how bees are farmed in the USA, and also about bees, though it would seem that she had no previous beekeeping experience. Her account is lively, fresh and immensely informative.
