Sometimes the most disruptive technologies are the least obtrusive. In complex environments, such as military operations, measuring the impact of new technologies is critical, but the cost of performing the measurement is often prohibitive and the measurements and techniques used are subjective. The purpose of the CERDEC (Communications-Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center) sponsored Human-Centered Mission Command Metrics for the Tactical Computing Environment Phase Ⅱ SBIR (Small Business Innovative Research) is to develop software that can automatically track mission command metrics. This effort, which government and industry have been working on since lune 2016, includes identifying novel mission command metrics, developing software to automatically track the metrics, and integrating the necessary data sources. This effort is unique in the degree to which it requires a fusion of domain and technology expertise.
