Hebei's steel output drops

The province in north China produced 16.2 Mt of crude steel in April, down 7.1% y/y and against the national trend of higher output, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics. Hebei accounted for 23.5% of the country's output last month. For the first four months, Hebei produced 66.6 Mt of steel, down 4% from a year ago and almost a quarter of China's total.
