Gates Foundation gives $10.3 million for Golden Rice research

The US philanthropic organisation, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, has made a $10.3 million grant to the Philippines-based International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) and national rice research institutes in Bangladesh and the Philippines to continue research into genetically modified bio-fortified Golden Rice. The research groups will be joined by the global charitable health organisation, Helen Keller International.
