Steel demand trends in Japan continue to be dominated almost exclusively by the automotive sector, with most other sectors showing declines in requirements. Total steel orders in July fell by 2.7% from June and were down by 4.7% year-on-year to 5.49mt, according to data from the Japan Iron and Steel Federation.
