Haruki Murakami goes to meet Hayao Kawai

An English-language version of a two-day encounter at Kyoto in 1995 between the Jungian analyst, Hayao Kawai, and the novelist, Haruki Murakami, was published in time for the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP) International Congress at Kyoto in August 2016. Some of the topics covered in their wide-ranging conversation are: commitment; linguistic and cultural differences between Japan and the West; self-healing through writing stories; mind/body; marriage; violence; and unresolved issues in Japan dating back to World War II.
