摘要

The field of organic compounds containing nitrogen and sulphur in present situation is extremely vast and its applicability in human life as well as in chemical industry is wide. Monoarylthiocarbamides are used as starting materials for the synthesisof various substituted dithiobiurets, dithiozolidines and S-triazines which are of immense industrial and medicinal importance. Some of these compounds are used as excellent vulcanization accelerators. Inorganic and organic salts of these typical compounds have been found to be active against bacteria, fungi and marine organism. Recently these are shown as excellent complexing agents and their metal complexes are found to impart a very important role in balancing environmental pollution. Sulphur and nitrogen containing heterocyclic compounds are also useful as antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, blood pressure depressant, anti-diabetic, hypoglycemic agents and some of these are known to cure gastrointestinal hyperacidity ulceration and convulsion.
