摘要

In some typical underground mine conditions before accidents/disasters leading to loss of life and equipments, characteristics of work environment in underground coal mines become unsafe with some precursors/warning of the adverse situations due to presence of poisonous and flammable mine gases, improper condition of the mining equipment etc. This paper presents an attempt for experimental study of a mine environment and proposes works to be carried out to promote safe working condition for the miners and provide suggestion for the deployment of an early warning system along with critical review of applicability and limitations of available wireless sensor networks (National and International Scenario) to monitor the underground condition of mine environment and can be extended to study the condition of the mining equipment. Emphasis is made on urgent requirement of application of trans-disciplinary research and study the underground mine conditions including online monitoring of mine atmosphere and mine equipment by application of wireless sensor networks andloT devices for improved safety.
