ArcelorMittal and BHP Billiton discuss JV

The world's largest steelmaker and the biggest miner are discussing an iron ore joint venture in West Africa. ArcelorMittal says it is has started initial discussions with BHP Billiton about combining their iron ore interests in Liberia and Guinea. The nearby mining and infrastructure projects could be significantly more competitive if brought together in a joint venture, it said. They will assess the possibilities over the coming months.
