Dacrila fallax (Kraatz) (Staphylinidae) new to Northern Ireland

Dacrila fallax (Kraatz) is a nationally rare Oxypoda-like aleocharine with a distribution in southern and eastern Britain and a single locality in south Wales (Hyman, 1994). It was first reported in Ireland by Owen (1995) from Ballyvergan Marsh south-west of Youghal, East Cork, then from Ballyvergin Mines in Co. Clare by Good (1999). In 2009 McCormack recorded it from Kilbeg Marsh in Co Waterford (verified, R. Anderson). There are no reports from northern counties in either Ireland or Britain.
