Steel producers in the region are in a wait-and-see mode as they have bought slabs at a high price in January for deliveries through to March and in some cases April. Mill sources said Chinese-origin hot rolled offers have gone below contracted prices of slab and this has forced some of the mills to put on hold their material procurement plans.
