摘要

The first (and I suspect only) VC is awarded to a beekeeper. Bee-keeping carries on and reminders of the conflict abroad still arrive from soldier-beekeepers in the war zones. "Isle of Wight" disease continues to wreak havoc amongst colonies and moreand more desperate remedies are tried to combat it. The new topic occupying beekeepers is the introduction of the standardframe hive - it seems strange in retrospect that some beekeepers were still using skeps. Advertisements show that there is some trade in bees from the continent, so relaxation of trade must have been allowed.
