摘要

WASHINGTON, DC - Some people are finding out that they will face a substantial fee when disposing of household appliances such as refrigerators and air conditioners. Some municipalities or waste collectors require certification that the appliance is empty of all refrigerant prior to accepting a unit for disposal. Some will take them and charge a fee over and above the normal disposal fee i.e. instead of a $5 fee for a large item, it is more like $75.
