Allogeneic Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation in Multiple Myeloma: Impact of Disease Risk and Post Allograft Minimal Residual Disease on Survival

Allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (allo-HCT) is a potentially curative for multiple myeloma. The results from randomized controlled trials, however, have shown conflicting outcomes. We retrospectively analyzed all patients with multiple myeloma who underwent allo-HCT at our institution from 2002 to 2013. Our data suggests that allo-HCT can provide long term disease control in young patients and those with high-risk cytogenetics.
