A drop of around ?25/t in June scrap prices across Europe does not necessarily pave the way for a further falls this month, according to scrap sources. Mills say another slight reduction in scrap may be on the cards, as they slow or stop in staggered fashion for extended periods in July and August. Scrap suppliers, however, foresee stability as steel producers seek to ensure some supply over summer and attempt to stop product prices slumping further.
