Hydrogen's importance to the future of the gas pipeline industry

At a recent National Hydrogen Strategy (NHS) roundtable on hydrogen in gas networks - part of the NHS consultation process - participating stakeholders were engaged and full of practical advice on how to get things moving. Decarbonisation and the need to ensure the gas industry plays its part in meeting future greenhouse gas emissions targets is the key policy driver, but there is also a sense that, with the right investments and regulatory settings, the hydrogen economy could be good for businesses and consumers in their own right.
