Held at the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra,Australian Capital Territory over three days,the event was attended by 27 professionals from all corners of the gas industry,who participated in mentoring programs to assist them in gaining valuable experience and insights into the art of public speaking.Future of the industry The event,which has been held annually since 1982,is produced by the Australian Gas Industry Trust(AGIT),an organisation governed by representatives of all sectors of the Australian gas industry: upstream exploration and production,gas transmission pipelines,gas networks and gas appliances.AGIT's role is to fund gas education and research,including Gas Speak,which gave these young professionals the opportunity to network with like-minded gas industry professionals and learn more about the sector from a variety of perspectives.On the first day of the event,Monday 13 August,attendees were welcomed to Gas Speak by AGIT Chair and EnergyQuest CEO Dr Graeme Bethune who outlined the mission of Gas Speak,the Trust's activities,as well as innovation in the gas industry.
