I recall sitting down to write my article for the April 2019 edition of The Australian Pipeliner and avoiding making any predictions about the election. I am glad I did! Here we are with a re-elected Coalition Government. More than anything, this unexpected result is a reminder to all of us to be prepared for foreseeable outcomes, not just the likely outcomes. As has been remarked on many times, the betting markets gave the coalition a 20 per cent chance of victory and die public opinion polls had barely moved for months in predicting a Labor win.
