NOTES ON WOODTURNING: Part 45 - Making a Cello Stand

David Foster, who is a regular in my woodturning workshop at Woolgoolga, chose to make a turned cello stand for his daughter who lives in Canberra. It wasn't an ideal setup as we did not have access to the cello or even a photo of it for reference. So this article explains the problems that were encountered and how they were overcome. In the process I'll introduce a number of handy hints as well as some inexpensive woodworking aids that can make your lathe a more versatile machine.
