EC approves Outokumpu's Inoxum acquisition

The European Commission (EC) has approved the ?2.7bn ($3.46bn) acquisition of Inoxum by Outokumpu, after the Finnish company agreed to a series of divestments. CEO Mika Seitovirta said the transaction is the answer “to meet the opportunities and challenges” of the segment and his company would now create a global leader in stainless steel.
