Australia and Brazil hit Nufarm's first-half earnings

A slump in Nufarm's Australian business and a reduced contribution from its 49.9%-owned Brazilian affiliate,Agripec,resulted in a halving of operating profit in the first half of fiscal 2007.Operating profit fell by 57.5% to Aus13.9 million (US18.1 million) in the six months to January 31 st 2007.This was in line with the company's forecast in December (Agrow No 510,p 3).
