Mahyco cuts GM cotton fee again

Monsanto's Indian seed joint venture,Mahyco Monsanto Biotech (MMB),has temporarily reduced the technology fee charged on its genetically modified Bollgard cotton in India to Rs 880 (19) per 450 g pack of seed.The action has been taken in order to comply with an interim order from the Indian Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices Commission (MRTPC) to reduce the fee from Rs 900 to a level comparable with that charged in China (Agrow No 496,p 17).
