The Indian Ministry of Agriculture is proposing to restrict the use of 31 pesticide active ingredients and to withdraw seven ais from the market due to incomplete registration data.These ais were sold in India before 1971 when the Insecticides Act came into force.They were granted"deemed"registration status and were subject to several data call-ins during the 1990s(Agrow No 323,p 20).
