A Launchpad to LeadershipThe Power of 10 Leadership Program: Initial Cohort Roundtable

Leaders of the veterinary profession serve as the backbone of the Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA), guiding the organization in making decisions big and small. These driven individuals are vital to the success and direction of the association and the profession, which is why TVMA began investing in the next generation of leaders with its Power of 10 Leadership Program. This initiative helps 10 recent graduates who earned their DVM within the past seven years cultivate and sharpen skills inleadership, communication and business by providing a series of leadership development sessions that enrich their personal and professional lives and benefit their practices, communities and the profession. For the inaugural class of participants, thesesessions took place in College Station and in Austin at the TVMA office and Texas capitol before ultimately wrapping up at the 2017 TVMA Annual Conference. Sessions focused on social media guidelines, the legislative process, conflict resolution and emotional intelligence.
