The history of organized veterinary medicine in Longview began with Longview Veterinary Hospital. And on November 24, 2011, this historic practice almost became history itself. The owner at the time, Dr. Christina Odom, had emptied the building and closed the doors after trying unsuccessfully to sell the practice. She was literally hours away from leaving town and mailing letters to clients announcing that the practice was closing for good when she received a call from Dr. Brian Foye, who had been practicing in nearby Marshall. They completed the purchase of the property on December 15, 2011, and they made a slight name change from Longview Veterinary Hospital to Longview Animal Hospital. A fast renovation added a second exam room (a third exam roomhas since been added as well), updated the hospital to state-of-the-art medical equipment and gave the inside ofthe clinic a much-needed face-lift. The hospital reopened on January 3, 2012.
