''Please stand if Dr. Michael Wil-lard was ypur professor."The vast majority of veterinarians attending the awards cere-mony at the 2018 TVMA Annual Conference rose from their seats. They looked at each other and at their former teacher, Michael D. Willard, DVM, MS, an emeritus professor of the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine, as he accepted the plaque for the 2018 TVMA Distinguished Career Achievement Award. Those standing were of all ages, showing the breadth of veterinarians Dr. Willard impacted over the course of his nearly 40-year small animal medicine teaching career.
