BASF's agrochemical sales fell by 2.5% to EURO576 million (us678 million) in the third quarter of 2005.Volumes were down by about 2% while price reductions and currency factors caused a reduction of about I %.Sales in North America were impacted by the expected Asian soybean rust (Phakopsora pachyrhizi) infestations failing to materialise.The company therefore had to buy back fungicide inventory from distributors.
