Environmentalist group Gene Campaign has filed a lawsuit with the Indian Supreme Court calling for a moratorium on field trials and commercial approvals of genetically modified crops until the current regulations are tightened up.The organisation is seeking a more transparent decision-making process for GMO trials and approvals in India.It is also urging the government to incorporate greater consideration of environment protection issues into the process for registering GM crops.
