The US EPA is drawing up new plans for registering and re-registering pesticides as the Pesticide Registration Improvement Act(PRIA)came into effect last month(Agrow No 441,p 12).The majority of registration actions submitted to the Agency after March 23rd are subject to the new service fees and decision schedules that were approved by Congress in January.Actions not covered by the new fees include emergency and special local need exemptions and amendments initiated by the EPA.
