WHO Urges uptake of GM food aid

UN WHO director general Dr Gro Harlem Brundtland has told health ministers from ten southern African countries that currently available evidence shows that genetically modified foods "are not likely to present a human health risk." Dr Brundtland was seeking to reassure the ministers that GM maize in food aid donated by the US was safe to eat.
