Spray polyurethane foam has, in the past couple of decades, gone from being a niche product to a mainstream insulation option. As Ken Wells, owner of Broadway, Virginia-based SPF contractor Elite Insulation, said, its use is not just growing - it's accelerating. 'It is not by any means a new product, but there is a focus on efficiency and how products work in a home,' he said. 'People who chose spray foam years ago are selling their houses and using the energy bills to compare against the house down the street that is conventionally insulated. They are starting to pay attention to what it costs to run a house, as well as what the house itself costs.'
