Argentine agchem market rebounds 28% in 2010

The Argentine agrochemical market rebounded in 2010, regaining most of the losses suffered the previous year. The market rose by 28.1% to $1,675.8 million, according to figures from market research company Kleffmann on behalf of the Argentine agrochemical industry association, the Casafe. That left it about $100 million below the record year of 2008 (Agrow No 571, pp 18-19). Kleffmann adds that its market estimate is based on sales rather than use, and that participant companies believe 14% of pesticides sold were used in the first quarter of 2011.
