Anvisa tips Brazil state to ban agrochemical spraying

The Brazilian national health surveillance agency, the Anvisa, has recommended that a Brazilian state ban the aerial spraying of pesticides. The country's toxicology agency called on the state of Ceara to use its autonomous powers to end the practice earlier this month. The suggestion came at a state public seminar on pesticides that confronted two themes: combating the "abuse" of pesticides; and implementing an environmentally sustainable model of production.
