Syngenta aims to top Brazil GM soybean market

Syngenta is targeting leadership of the Brazilian genetically modified soybean seed market. In an interview with national news agency Agencia Estado, Syngenta Seeds director for Brazil Gilson Moleiro said that Brazil was a "strategic market" with "great" growth potential. "In just three years, Syngenta has gained 10% of the market through its GM soybean sales," he reportedly says. The next target is 20% within five years. Syngenta markets glyphosate-tolerant Roundup Ready soybeans under licence from Monsanto. The germplasm belongs to Syngenta.
