Dow AgroSciences and the Japanese company, Meiji Seika Pharma (Tokyo), have agreed to co-develop and commercialise a new fungicide that was discovered through a research collaboration between the two firms. Meiji Seika will market the fungicide in Japan, South Korea and some other Asian countries, while Dow will be responsible for sales in the rest of the world. Dow intends to submit an approval application in the EU next year, with a commercial launch expected in 2019. Meiji Seika will apply for registration in Japan in 2015.
