Chinese pesticide imports continued to rise in Q3

Chinese pesticide imports rose 18.4% to $78.6 million during the third quarter of 2010, compared with the same period in the previous year, reports the Chinese national newspaper, the AgriGoods Herald. Volumes also increased by 15% to 9,616.3 tonnes. The trend followed gains in the second quarter (Agrow No 600, p 19). China's nine-month imports were up in value and volume terms to $350 million (+25.9%) and 42,000 tonnes (+15.9%), respectively. Chinese pesticide imports dipped 0.5% in 2009 to some 44,000 tonnes (Agrow No 589, p 22).
