China's agrochemical exports plunged by 38.8% to $400 million in value terms in the second quarter of 2009 compared with the same period last year. Volumes were down 2.6% to 144,000 tonnes. The data were published by the Chinese Customs Department in the Chinese national newspaper, the AgriGoods Herald. They reveal that the average export price for the period was $2,774/tonne. First-quarter exports were valued at $390 million, down 29.2% year-on-year (Agrow No 568, p 22).
