Bayer agrochemical sales fall 15% in first quarter

Bayer CropScience's first-quarter 2010 crop protection sales suffered from a late start to the European and North American season. Sales fell by 14.9% to ?1,476 million ($1,966 million at the current rate), and by 16.4% after portfolio and currency adjustments compared with the first three months of last year. Only the insecticide business grew.
