EU member states have again failed to agree on whether or not to accept European Commission proposals to approve genetically modified crops. The EU Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health's November meeting could not reach the majority votes required to clear: the approval of Monsanto's insect-resistant and glyphosate-tolerant M0N89034xM0N88017 maize for import, processing and use in food and feed.
