Brazil tops world agrochemical market in 2008

Brazil has overtaken the US as the world's largest national agrochemical market. That is the assessment of market research group Kleffmann's founder, Burkhard Kleffmann, quoted in the Brazilian business daily, Gazeta Mercantil. Preliminary figures indicate the Brazilian 2008 market was worth $6,900-7,000 million, Mr Kleffmann says. The US market in 2008 is expected to have reached $6,700 million.
