There is a mindset I am trying to convey, some of us might be familiar with the term 'regulatory capture', it is when a regulator that is supposed to independently govern, monitor, police or perhaps even prosecute a sector or organisation becomes beholden to or even acts with the same mindset of those whom it is meant to quality check. Some might remember the FSA (Financial Services Authority) which, due to its perceived failure during the global financial crisis and allegations of regulatory capture, was replaced by another acronym, the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority).
