Purpose:To presents challenges, motives and success factors of planning and reorganizing quality management organizations.Summary:A quality management organization (QMO) requires appropriate organizational planning and structuring and an essential task of quality management. In a bid to win competition in markets, QMO loses the ability to turn quality strategy into practice, resulting in an organizational gap and in turn weakens the ability to fulfil customer requirements and the loose the competition. A few live examples of the consequences for a company??s QMO are being discussed Thus the present article has tried to examine what organizational structures are currently in place in the manufacturing sector, and what actions these companies take to plan and reorganize their QMO to adapt to future challenges. The study involving an online survey was done among participants from manufacturing sector. The survey gathered information regarding the practical need for quality-related organizational planning, its impact on organizational effectiveness and triggers for planning and reorganizing activities and consequently reorganizations within the quality management. (20 refs.)Results:According to the article, an organization has to be stable, flexible and foster effectiveness and an efficient use of company resources. When organizations often overcompensate with reactive countermeasures for a competitive market, their quality weakens and loses the ability to fulfil customer requirements which is the key to remain competitive.
