PRINCIPLES OF WATER TREATMENT

Water is widely used in industry for the transfer of heat and production of steam. Cooling water is used in almost every manufacturing process as well as air conditioning. Steam plants are used in the power generating and heating fields. These varied demands have led to highly efficient and sophisticated water treatment programs. While the actual treatments used differ whether the water is used for cooling or steam generation, the principles are much the same. Corrosion is only one problem that must be dealt with in water treatment. Other problems which may occur in various degrees are scaling, fouling and microbiological problems.
