Compliance with the European Standards is a precondition for membership in the European Association of Quality Assurance Agencies (ENQA) and for an agency being listed in the European Quality Assurance Register (EQAR). This dual control is a product of quality assurance trade. In this 15th anniversary of higher education quality in Europe, it become a fact of life that this concept got deep even in the public mind. There is an awareness of the importance of quality, in the sense that it is as a wish for better education. There is also the awareness among higher education stakeholders that each is responsible for contributing to quality. (2 refs.).
