Zinc, that most runcible of metals

Zinc is without a doubt one of the most useful metals in the fight to control corrosion. We, as corrosionists, principally use it in metallic form as anodes, as an amalgamous deposition layer as galvanizing, as a molten spray or as a paint pigment. Zinc has an interesting history, significant use was made of it long before it was recognised as a metal in about the 14th century A.D. particularly in the formation of Brass (copper + zinc).
