ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is a developer and publisher of International Standards. ISO forms as a network of the national standards institutes of 162 countries with a Central Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland, that coordinates the system. In 1992 the second edition of ISO 2409 standard was published for Paints and Varnishes Cross Cut tests. It describes a methodology using a specific 25mm wide tape. In 2007 a new version was published and the tape specified has a different adhesion specification and width requirement of 50mm.
