Canadian approval for DuPont's Cyazypyr

DuPont has received Canadian approval for three products based on its anthranilic diamide insecticide, cyantraniliprole (trade-marked as Cyazypyr). Benevia and Exirel are for foliar application and Verimark is for soil and seed treatment. DuPont received its first approval for Benevia in Argentina in 2012 and expects to gain registrations in 20 countries by the end of this year (Agrow No 659, p 3). Cyantraniliprole is seen as a complement to DuPont's first anthranilic diamide insecticide, chlorantraniliprole (trade-marked as Rynaxypyr), which was introduced five years ago. Cyantraniliprole is DuPont's first insecticide to control a "cross spectrum" of chewing and sucking pests, the company points out.
