China's agchem industry up 20% in first five months

China's agrochemical industry saw revenues increase by 20.3% to Yuan 111,010 million ($17,960 million at the current rate) in the first five months of 2013 compared with the same period last year, according to figures from the country's National Bureau of Statistics and reported by the China Crop Protection Industry Association (CCPIA). The figures show that industry-wide profits increased by 48.2% to Yuan 7,906 million ($1,279 million). The data were compiled from 825 agrochemical companies, sub-divided into 694 chemical pesticide manufacturers and 131 producers of biopesticides and microbial pesticides.
